The big forex bluff: getting rich or enriching others?

One could imagine the forex market as the lake's level of the water. If there were no other parameters than the meteorological ones, forecasts, or at least, trends would be fairly reliable. When it rains, it's easy to foresee that the level will rise, while in dry days it will drop. But let's suppose that a dam from a hydroelectric enterprise (banks, financial systems, big speculators) has been built upstream of the lake, and therefore their choices, which will be dictated by their economic interests, will go to determine the lake level. And therefore, beyond the knowledge of weather forecasts, it is also necessary to know what the intentions or interests of the hydroelectric company are. Suppose, however, that every inhabitant of the lake and its surroundings (small investors) can pick up or throw water into the lake through tanks. One inhabitant would have no impact on the lake level, but if we think millions of people live around the lake then their action will also have an important influence in determining the lake level. And at this point, who wants to make predictions, should also understand the tendencies of lake dwellers. We add that sometimes the earthquakes and terrorist attacks (random events) could blow the dam and pour large amounts of water into the lake, raising the level suddenly or that a nearby volcano could erupt of the lava . Suppose, moreover, that the local newspaper publishes every morning the news about the weather forecasts, the economic performance of the hydroelectric company, polls and opinions of citizens with forecasts of the level that could reach the lake, or on the state of the volcano Or the security of the dam itself. These elements will also have to be taken into account for the dam level forecasts. Now, it is natural to ask, what about all of these elements, apart from the former, is predictable? Still, the overwhelming majority of Forex texts tell us about techniques to spot currencies, as if our lake was actually a simple puddle that fills it when it rains and dries on sunny days.

Si potrebbe immaginare il mercato del forex come il livello delle acque di un lago. 

Se non ci fossero altri parametri se non quelli metereologici, le previsioni, o almeno, le tendenze sarebbero abbastanza attendibili. 

Quando piove, o sta per piovere, è facile prevedere che il livello si alzerà, mentre nelle giornate secche si abbasserà. 

Ma supponiamo che a monte del lago sia stata costruita una diga da una impresa idroelettrica (banche, sistemi finanziari, grandi speculatori), a questo punto anche le loro scelte, che saranno dettate dai propri interessi economici, interverranno nel determinare il livello del lago. E quindi oltre alla conoscenza delle previsioni metereologiche occorrerebbe sapere anche quali sono le intenzioni o gli interessi dell'impresa idroelettrica. 

Supponiamo ancora, che anche ogni abitante del lago e dei suoi dintorni (piccoli investitori), possa prelevare o gettare acqua nel lago attraverso delle cisterne. Un solo abitante non avrebbe alcuna incidenza sul livello del lago, ma se pensiamo che attorno al lago vivono milioni di persone, allora anche la loro azione avrà un'influenza importante nel determinare il livello del lago. E, a questo punto, chi volesse fare delle previsioni, dovrebbe anche capire le tendenze degli abitanti del lago. 

Aggiungiamo che a volte dei terremoti e degli attentati terroristici (eventi casuali) potrebbero far saltare la diga e riversare grandi quantitativi di acqua nel lago, facendone innalzare il livello improvvisamente o che un vulcano vicino potrebbe eruttare della lava che improvvisamente prosciugasse il lago. 

Supponiamo inoltre, che il giornale locale, molto letto, pubblichi ogni mattina delle notizie riguardanti le previsioni meteo, l'andamento economico dell'impresa idroelettrica, sondaggi e opinioni dei cittadini con previsioni sul livello che potrebbe raggiungere il lago, o sullo stato del vulcano o la sicurezza della diga stessa. Anche questi elementi dovranno essere tenuti in considerazione per le previsioni sul livello della diga. 

Ora, è naturale chiedersi, quali di tutti questi elementi, a parte il primo, è prevedibile? 

Eppure la stragrande maggioranza dei testi sul forex ci raccontano di tecniche per individuare la tendenza delle valute, come se il nostro lago fosse in realtà una semplice bacinella isolata che si riempie quando piove e si asciuga nelle giornate soleggiate.
